Independent schema reference · Ross ERP 8.0

The Ross ERP 8.0 schema,
made legible.

An independent data dictionary for the standard Ross ERP 8.0 database schema — every table, column, key, view and procedure. Schema structure only — no business data or customer records.

Data Dictionary

Every table, column, key and relationship — searchable.

An interactive reference for the whole standard Ross ERP 8.0 schema (FIN + MAN). Column descriptions, valid-value lists and foreign keys come from the GEMBASE application dictionary; additional relationships are inferred from shared key columns.

  • Every table, view and procedure — searchable, filterable by type, class, module, DB
  • Per-column: type, nullability, PK / identity / computed badges, description, valid values, FKs
  • Foreign keys in and out, plus inferred related tables (shared-key)
  • ER "neighborhood" diagram for each table
  • Field-level lineage — where a column is read and written across the schema — plus seed-data decodes (code → meaning) right in the column drawer
  • One-click exports: CSV and JSON per table; copy SELECT and CREATE TABLE (DDL)
  • Insights: module coupling, most-depended-on tables, schema-wide stats
  • Keyboard-driven (/ search, ? help), deep-linkable — dd.rossdata.dev/#GL_ACCOUNTS
How to use it

Search or filter to an object → open it → read its columns, keys and relationships → export or copy what you need → jump to the same object in the Knowledge Graph.

Web Services

Every service, with the field lists that were never written down.

Every RS_* SOAP / Connect service in the standard integration layer — its direction, its typed call parameters, and the complete request and response payloads, with each field resolved to a real Data Dictionary column.

  • 233 services across 10 menu systems — 460 payload tables, 9,616 fields
  • Full request / response field lists with types and descriptions — not just the call signature
  • An example call: a representative SOAP / MethodXML request and response
  • Export a service to Postman, OpenAPI or CSV
  • Cross-links to the backing Facility and Program, and to every table in the Dictionary
  • Deep-linkable — rs.rossdata.dev/#rs_add_customer
How to use it

Filter by direction or menu system → open a service → read its parameters and its full payload fields → copy the example call or export it → cross over to the tables it touches in the Dictionary.

Knowledge Graph

See the schema as a living map you can explore.

The same schema rendered as an interactive graph — objects as nodes, relationships and code references as edges — so you can see the structure the dictionary lists in tables.

  • Force-directed map of the schema + code layer, grouped into modules and communities
  • Path-finding between any two objects — "how does A reach B?"
  • Hub / most-connected detection; filter by object type
  • Deep-linkable focus on any node; one-click jump to the Data Dictionary entry
How to use it

Start from a module or search a node → follow edges to see what connects → find the path between two objects → click through to the Dictionary for the detail.

Facility Explorer

Browse the application from the user's side: every facility — screen, report or program — in the standard Ross ERP 8.0 client menu, searchable by facility code, name and module, each with the full menu path that reaches it. 2,327 facilities across FIN + MAN. Deep-linkable — toc.rossdata.dev/#AP_M_011.

Program Explorer

Browse the standard Ross ERP 8.0 program catalog — every program by module, type and declared title, each cross-linked to the exact Data Dictionary tables it references. 3,327 programs across 22 modules, 24,363 program→table links. Metadata only — no source. Deep-linkable — pg.rossdata.dev/#ap_a_check_register.

REST API

Live

A REST / JSON API for the Data Dictionary — the same structured data the site exports, programmatically. Fetch a table's full schema as JSON, look up any column, search objects, get DDL. Public, read-only, CORS-open — no key required.

# base: https://api.rossdata.dev
GET /v1/tables/SALES_ORDER_HEADERS
GET /v1/tables/SALES_ORDER_HEADERS/ddl
GET /v1/search?q=posting_date

MCP server

Live

One MCP server that connects agents and tools directly to this dataset — the Dictionary (look up tables, columns, DDL), the Knowledge Graph (traverse relationships, find paths), the application layer (find a screen, or ask which facilities touch a table) and the program catalog (browse programs, or ask which programs reference a table). Point any MCP client at the endpoint:

Ask Ross

Coming soon

Plain-English answers about the Ross ERP 8.0 data model. Ask a question and get the exact tables, columns, keys and relationships that answer it — with links straight into the Dictionary and the Graph. The whole schema, made conversational.

ask ross ▸ "which table holds GL postings, and how does it link to the sub-ledger?"
Built on the same open dataset behind the Dictionary, API and MCP.

About this reference

Independent
A data dictionary and database-schema reference for standard Ross ERP 8.0 (FIN + MAN modules). Not affiliated with the vendor.
Standard release
The standard base data model as shipped — FIN + MAN. No site-specific customizations, just the schema everyone starts from.
Complete
1,840 tables, 36,230 columns, 81 views, 244 procedures and 195 archive twins — 2,165 objects in total, plus 233 web services.
Private instances

Your Ross ERP isn't the standard release — so map the one you actually run.

Every deployment drifts from the base: custom tables, vendor-layer overrides, site-specific fields, triggers, integrations and interfaces. Point this same toolchain at your schema and application dictionary, and get a private Data Dictionary, Knowledge Graph, REST API and MCP server built around your data — customizations and all. Yours only, never published.
